Following the successful introduction of the new 3 Series Sedan (F30), BMW is expanding the 3 Series line-up with the all-new 3 Series Sports Wagon (F31).
The new 3 Series Sports Wagon is ready to once more demonstrate its perfect blend of driving dynamics, technology and versatility combined in a sporty and elegant design.
The Start of Communication for the all-new 3 Series Sports Wagon is today May 14 2012. The world premiere will take place at the Leipzig Auto Show in June 2012 and we are pleased to announce that the new 3 Series Sports Wagon will once more be offered in Canada. It will launch in Europe first in September 2012, and is set to arrive at Canadian Retailers in the Spring of 2013.
The design language of the new 3 Series Sports Wagon is similar to its Sedan sibling, with the addition of a longer roofline sloping down gently and a slim D-pillar that create an athletic silhouette. A slight growth in dimensions over the previous generation reinforces the car’s sporty stance and benefits the interior and cargo space. The trunk capacity is increased by almost 10% over the outgoing model. As on the Sedan, three different Lines will be available to further personalize and complement the design of the all-new 3 Series Sports Wagon: Sport, Luxury, Modern. The M Sport Package will also be available.
While the engine offer for the Canadian market is still being defined, we can already announce that the new 3 Series Sports Wagon will come with the most advanced technology, such as Auto Start/Stop, 8-speed Automatic transmission and a complete BMW ConnectedDrive program (e.g. BMW Apps, Rear-View Camera with Surround View, Active Blind Spot Detection, Head-up Display, etc.)
New to this generation, the luggage compartment cover can be stowed away under the trunk floor if not in use. Also notable on the new 3 Series Sports Wagon are the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats and a rear window that opens separately from the tailgate. Finally, a power tailgate will be offered for the first time - when combined to Comfort Access it can even be opened with only a motion of the foot under the rear bumper.
