Goodwood: a new brand name for luxury MINI's?

When MINI teamed up with Rolls-Royce to design an überluxurious version of the Cooper, many believed it was simply an exercise in style, demonstrating the full potential and the exclusive nature of the brand. However, anonymous tips from inside the company have revealed that the unveiling heralded the arrival of a new sub-brand representing higher end models.

Essentially, Goodwood would position itself like John Cooper Works, the badge of MINI’s high performance models. BMW has neither officially confirmed nor invalidated the rumour.
